Waking up to find your 2 year-old having gone missing in the middle of the night has got to be one of the worst experiences you could imagine.
Jordan Graham reports on the disturbing account, via Boston Herald online, on how a Massachusetts family witnessed that scare when they found that a former babysitter had broken into their home during the early morning hours and kidnapped their child.
The perpetrator was named as Abigail Hanna, a 21 year-old Topsfield woman who they said had only babysat the toddler “once or twice.”
The toddler was located around 8 miles from her home by a couple after an air and land search ensued. She was discovered; head shaved and a massive bruise, but alive.
The woman has been taken into custody. Although her social media accounts reflect activity and interests of the typical growing adult, one time college student of Gordon College, an interest in pop culture, childcare, and newly engaged it is clear that she has a darker side. Read more:
A former baby sitter will be arraigned tomorrow on charges she broke into a Hamilton home in the middle of the night and kidnapped a 2-year-old girl who was found naked and bruised on the side of the road by passersby hours later and miles away.
Abigail Hanna, 21, of Topsfield was arrested early yesterday and charged with kidnapping, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, assault and battery on a child, and breaking and entering in the nighttime in the abduction of Lyndon Albers early Friday, Hamilton police said. Hanna is being held without bail.
