also great when listening. It allows your toddler to understand that he has your attention, and increases the chances of actually understanding what they are being told.

Call them by name

Keep it and short and sweet

It is very significant to remember this. Keep in mind, these tots are filled with energy and probably the most important thing on

their mind at any given moment is snack and Bubble Guppies. So, with that being said, always remember to keep your

communication short and to the point. If your communication is a request of some sort, try beginning the sentence with, “I want you to.” It indicates direction.

Embrace the power of positivity

Embrace the power of positivity when learning how to talk to toddlers. They are young, but vibes communicate well on every

age level. Positive vibes help reinforce positive behavior. Besides, we are aiming to instill lifelong communication tactics in our tots.

Get Confirmation

After every bit of communication, especially requests, ask your toddler to repeat what you’ve just said. If they aren’t able to do

so with ease and can’t remember it, then that’s an indicator that you may have

given them a little too much to process at once. Rethink the request and find a short, more memorable way to communicate it to your toddler. Besides, the goal is for the line of connection between the two of you to be open, clear and concise.
